ANCHOR: RIT unveiled its first green home today. Student volunteers have been building the house with Flower City Habitat for Humanity for months now. It is located on Whitney Street in Rochester's JOSANA neighborhood. The home includes solar panels, a tankless water heater, and soy-based foam insolation. There's a 95 percent energy efficient furnace and a special ventilation system to prevent heat loss. Construction started last winter and the home is now in the final stages of completion. She was also on the kidney transplant waiting list, but the wait for a donor organ, she said, ranges from 1 to 5 years. Early this month, one of her distant relatives, James Blum, 63, of Philadelphia, whom she's never met, suffered a stroke and designated one of his kidneys to her.
