Students from Finger Lakes Community College joined NYS Department of Environmental Conservation staffers at a bear den last week in Steuben County. The den was located via a radio telemetry collar on the adult female. She was chemically immobilized while her collar was replaced and health assessed. The cubs also received a check up and some external measurements as part of an undergraduate research project. All bears were healthy, including the three cubs.

The Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles varsity boys basketball team captured the Class C3 Section Five sectional championship with a 72-28 win over Kendall at the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday. Joemaine Bogan scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the winners.
