Was walking through my yard and spotted this tiny turtle. Wouldn't think I would see a baby turtle this time of year. I am thinking it must have wintered over from last summer's clutch emerging only now. Its egg tooth is quite visible. This wee one, seen in Ontario on Wednesday, was the size of a quarter.

Anthony Birthplace Museum in Adams, Mass. gave a talk, in honor of National Women’s History Month, with a power point, artifacts and a traveling wall. This male EABL (eastern bluebird) was banded last year by my father when he was a hatchling, he is now considered a "first year" and has claimed a nest box on my mare's fence. Dad passed in October, three months after banding this one. What a treasure it is for me to see Dad's craft still alive and well in my own backyard. How very meaningful for me. Courtnie Elscott was Geneva's MVP for the school year and Nate Gadoury was Geneva's top scorer at the All Star Meet.

In Phelps, on Tuesday afternoon, this male cardinal stayed put in one of our feeders for over half an hour. I have never seen that happen before. He truly was "basking in the sunshine!" I took the picture through a window so I wouldn't disturb him.
