Seneca Falls Savings Bank is adding 30 parking spaces to a lot adjacent to its downtown offices to accommodate people who shop, eat, and do business in Seneca Falls. Local dignitaries turned out Tuesday to help break ground for a new informational kiosk to be built near Long Pier on Seneca Lake in Geneva. Assisting in the ground breaking were city manager Matt Horn, Mayor Ron Alcock, Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb, R-129 of Canandaigua, Chamber of Commerce President Spike Herzig and Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES carpentry instructor Bill Stobie. The kiosk is the project of the Finger Lakes Leadership Class of 2012. The Leadership class is a program of the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, and is contributing to the continuing vitality of our communities by identifying and developing individuals for leadership roles in the Finger Lakes area.  The program introduces participants to the services and issues facing our communities and enhances their leadership potential and management skills through seminars, community projects, professional skill building exercises and field trips.

South Seneca Middle/High School students Gemini Zajac and Jonathan Jaramillo performed "Freak, Geek and the Automobile" for the friday night audience and won first place ($75) in the annual Talent Show featuring performances by Danza Romani, a Romani dance performance group directed by Cornell Professor, June Seaney.

" Love Is In The Air! "
Part of the falcon family, this pair of American Kestrels (AMKE) were making the most of spring, high up on a telephone pole on Lake Road in Ontario on Saturday. The AMKE is common and widespread but numbers are in decline. They were perched above farmed fields true to where they're apt to be sighted. The AMKE is the smallest falcon in North America, and is sometimes pursued as a meal by larger birds of prey. Local Network
