" Panther Support "
Ciara Fratto is held in the air by Tiara Carter, Alizea Rooks Harrison and coach Stacy Mott of the Panther Extreme All-Starz. The group is an independent competitive cheerleading squad based in Geneva but serving the entire Finger Lakes area. The squad welcomes any cheerleader 14 years of age or younger to try out. " Late 1800's Wall Ad Discovered "
A number of Waterloo residents are trying to save a painting discovered on an exterior wall when the Dempsey Building was demolished last month. They decided to move slowly to see if the wall can be "saved" and will preserve it for the winter while they talk with building owner Douglas Fridley. It was painted some time before 1896. Hobart and William Smith first year students participate in a seven-week course called "Common Ground" taught by staff at HWS. The students get to know each other and the Geneva area during their first weeks of college life. " Nigel Kent Announces Gallery "
If you are a regular visitor to this website you have undoubtedly enjoyed the beautiful photos of the Finger Lakes region as seen through the lens of local photographer Nigel Kent. Nigel is currently set to display his best work in the Rabbit Room Restaurant in Honeoye Falls. The official opening isn't until December 1st but the building is open Mon. - Wed. & Fri. from 10 am - 3 pm, and on Thurs. and Sat. from 10 am - 9 pm. The pictures there range in size from 20x30 framed to larger unframed prints on canvas from 44 to 68 inches. The pictures are all about the Finger Lakes region, its forests, streams, waterfalls and lakes.

Jack Stenburg gets a handshake from Bob Steele following the absentee count which gave Stenberg a 27 vote victory. The finals vote was Stenburg-2,674, Steele-2,647 and Jim Spike-2,575. " Seneca Sheriff Race Narrows "
Jack Stenburg and Jim Spike compare results Tuesday morning at the Seneca County Board of Elections. Seneca County Board of Elections officials discovered a computer glitch from election night. The new vote totals heading into today's opening of the absentee ballots has Independence Party candidate Bob Steele as the front runner with 2,546 votes, Democrat Jack Stenberg has 2,510 votes and Republican Jim Spike has 2,438 votes. Geneva senior Jeremiah Allen set a state tournament record for rushing yards with 394 Saturday, as the Panthers defeated Depew 32-14 in the Class B football state tournament quarterfinal at PAETEC Park. Allen scored four touchdowns among his 36 carries. This was Allenís second 300-yard plus performance of this postseason for Geneva (10-2). Jack Stenberg of Waterloo talks to RNews following his narrow victory on election night in a close three-way race for Seneca County Sheriff. Stenberg leads Jim Spike by just 65 votes. Bob Steele finshed third at the polls, 121 votes behind Stenburg. 587 -absentee ballots were sent out to Seneca County voters, so far 437 have been returned.
