" Best Wings in the Land? "
The Great Chicken Wing Hunt stopped in Geneva Tuesday morning and tasted chicken wings from Abigail's, Cam's, Uncle Joe's, and Tops Friendly Markets. Semi-pro eater Ben "Mighty Thor" Beavers (left) a member of the film's cast congratulates Abigail's Restaurant chef Marshall Grady on his "Blue Bayou" blue cheese chicken wings. The cast of the film and crew liked the wings so much they have filmed another segment at Abigail's Wednesday. " Torrey Park Dedication "
Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the Torrey Park dedication ceremony where he recognized the hard work and sacrifices members of the Italian community made to Geneva. These individuals were amongst the first to settle in Geneva and they created many of the businesses which exist today. " Congratulations Private Lawty "
I am proud to introduce you to my son Private Kenneth Lawty who has just graduated from basic military training in the British Army. Kenneth completed his Junior year at Geneva High School after we moved from England but he returned to England to join the British Army and has jopined the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC). Kenneth will now be trained by the National Health Service and the British Army to become a Pharmacist. " Kueka College Golf Classic Champs "
The team of Roger Jensen, Scott Jensen, Kyle Reagan, and Josh Robinson successfully defended its title, firing a 55 in the scramble event. The foursome of Ken Owens, Randy Jensen, Gary Malcolm, and Kim Elkins returned a 60 to win the mixed team title while Alan Beardsley, Dana Schillinger, Ed Perry, and Rich Rochford shot a 65 to win the senior division. The 2007 tournament raised some $14,000 for the Deb Manahan Scholarship.

Singer-songwriter Christine Lavin stopped by the WEOS studios at Hobart and William Smith Colleges Tuesday to record an interview for National Public Radio (NPR). Lavin will be featured Thursday morning talking about her song "Planet X" which she tells the story of Pluto, its discovery, naming, and the controversy over whether or not it should be considered a planet. It was a year ago tomorrow that Pluto was named a dwarf planet. Lavin wrote the song in 1997. She'll be featured on NPR's "Morning Edition". Photo by Kevin Colton.
