" Paws on Parade "
Over fifty dogs, three cats, and a pot-bellied pig dressed up in their Halloween costumes took part in the annual "Paws on Parade" fundraiser Sunday for the Beverly Animal Shelter in Waterloo. Because of the high wind warnign Sunday, the event was moved indoors to the Seneca Falls Community Center. Elizabeth Hensell of Romulus, and her dog Rita both dressed as the "Phantom of the Opera" took first prize. Last week the shelter receieved $10,000 in emergency funding to all it to stay open through the end of the year. A public meeting with the shelter’s Board of Directors will be held Thursday, November 2nd, at 7pm at the Seneca Falls American Legion Post. Photo by Greg Cotterill.

A CBS Nightly News crew is visiting the former Seneca Army Depot today to shoot footage of the white deer herd and interview Seneca County officials and members of Seneca White Deer, Inc. about plans to protect the largest herd of white deer in the world.
