Upwards of a thousand early morning shoppers were lined up at the Geneva Wal-Mart Friday morning as the doors opened at 5 am. The first people in line had been waiting since 10:30 Thursday night. TV's sold out quickly. TV's, blenders, sheets and other items were part of Wal-Mart's secret items that shoppers had to find on the Wal-Mart website before the stores opened today. " Strecthing Out In Geneva "
Julia King of Yarmouth, Maine gets some tips on stretching and exercise from 4th grader Kaytlyn Hudson at the Geneva North Street School. Julia and her teammates from the Bowdoin College Women's Field Hockey Team stopped by the school to help teach Geneva students about leadership. Hobart and William Smith Colleges are hosting the 2006 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship, Nov. 17-18, at William Smith College's McCooey Field. The weekend's action will feature four of the top field hockey programs in the nation. In the semifinal round on Friday, Ursinus College will take on Lebanon Valley College at 11 a.m., followed by Bowdoin College and Messiah College playing at 2 p.m. The semifinal winners will meet in the championship match at 1 p.m. on Saturday. One thing leads to another in the Omaha Theater Company’s production of “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie,” which will be presented at 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9 at the historic Smith Opera House. Tickets are $4.50. This production is open to school audiences and the general public. “It’s a very humorous play,” said Omaha Theater Company Artistic Director James Larson. “The play teaches children the meaning of life is to be happy and to make others happy.”
