" Waterloo Memorial Day Sign Dedicated "
The Nationally recognized birthplace of Memorial Day will become easier to visit thanks a new sign designating Waterloo as the Birthplace of Memorial Day. The sign which has been placed just off Exit 41 of the New York State Thruway, directs tourist and visitors to the historic village of Waterloo. " Tasini Bikes Through Geneva "
Jonathan Tasini, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Hillary Clinton, is making a statewide bicycle Ride For Peace tour. That 600-mile tour stpped in Geneva on Thursday, as they make their way to the state Democratic Convention, May 30-31 in Buffalo. Matt Hanggi of the Geneva Bicycle Center on Exchange Street looks over Tasini's bike and decided it needed two new tires. Tasini had a flat rear tire while traveling from Ithaca to Geneva.
