" Seneca Meadows Landfill Fire "
Firefighters fill a Waterloo tanker truck in an effort to extinguish a fire at the Seneca Meadows Landfill on Route 414 in Seneca County on Sunday night. This picture was taken inside the landfill where water was available from a hydrant. Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Magee, Red Jacket, Fayette, Romulus, Varick and Border City were called to the scene. It was reported that it was shredded tire chips that caught fire. Smoke from the blaze was reported as far away as Auburn Road in Seneca Falls. Senator Mike Nozzolio recently met with Charlie Bell, President of The Medicine Express in Webster to discuss the high cost of prescription drugs. The Medicine Express was founded as a way to provide consumers with information about ways to legally purchase their prescriptions at lower cost and provides cost analysis information to individuals seeking help. " Ethanol Draws A Crowd In SF "
Empire Bio-fuels investor Ralph Lott of Seneca Falls addresses the Seneca Falls Town Board and over two hundred residents that turned out to show their support and opposition to the proposed $80-million dollar ethanol plant on the Auburn Road in Seneca Falls. Three town board members, Thomas David, Steven Dougherty, and Lucille Cook refused Tuesday night to agree to move the project forward if an environmental impact study is completed and Empire Bio-fuels can assure that all concerns of the impact study are addressed. Empire Bio-fuels officials told those at the 3-hour meeting that the Auburn Road site "is the best site in New York State", but they are still moving forward with plans to locate the plant at the former Seneca Army Depot in Romulus.
