" Sunday was for the Dogs "
A Halloween dog costume parade and chicken barbequewas held Sunday to benefit the Beverly Animal Shelter in Seneca County. Shown here is Cookie who was one of the "Katrina dogs" brought back to Waterloo. Ben, Lauren, and Sandy Vasquez of Geneva have adopted this former Gulf Coast resident.

" Walking for Beverly "
Dr. Timothy Ryan of Seneca Falls and Maria Miracle walk near the Liberty Center Plaza in Seneca Falls to raise money for the Beverly Animal Shelter in Waterloo. Sunday's events also included a Halloween dog costume parade and chicken barbeque. Proceeds benifited the shelter. Seneca County is the only county in the state that doesn't have a SPCA shelter.

Senator Nozzolio was instrumental in securing the state funding necessary to continue the school's after-school programs. Senator Mike Nozzolio recently was the guest speaker at the Cayuga Seneca Action Agency's annual dinner. Senator Nozzolio announced a $40,000 New York State grant for the organization and presented Gloria Griffin with a special New York State Resolution in honor of the Agency's 40th Anniversary. Senator Nozzolio was honored that evening for his ongoing commitment and support to the organization by Director Gloria Griffen.

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently joined United States Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton at the unveiling of the proposed National Women’s Hall of Fame building at the former Seneca Knitting Mill in Seneca Falls. Senator Nozzolio recently announced an agreement that would allow the National Women’s Hall of Fame to acquire and renovate one of the most historic buildings in Seneca Falls.

" National Honors For Area Teacher "
Vincent Lalli of Seneca Falls has been selected as one of 20 winners of the 8th annual All-USA Teacher Team selected by the nation's newspaper USA TODAY. Lalli was one of 19 individuals and a team of four teachers selected. He teaches horticulture at the Hillside Children's Center in Varick. Team members received trophies and share $2,500 with their schools. All are honored in Thursday's edition of USA TODAY. The paper has an average daily circulation of 2.3 million copies.
