" Emergency Response Team "
On Tuesday night, at the Seneca County Office Building in Waterloo, another Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) held a mock disaster drill. The eight-week program helps to train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations and to know what to do and what not to do until First Responders arrive. Kinney Drugs Pharmacist Steven Gray of Seneca Falls gets his head shaved Wednesday morning in front of the Kinney Drug Store on Fall Street after store employees and customers donated $600 dollars to the Children's Miracle Network and the Children's Hospital at University Hospital in Syracuse. The Seneca Falls store is the smallest in the Kinney Drug Store chain. Plans are in the works for a new store which would be the company's first to include gas pumps to be built at the intersection of Routes 5&20 and Balsey Road in Seneca Falls. " Nozzolio Honors Auburn Man "
On Tuesday, State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio announced that Guy Cosentino of Auburn has been awarded the NY State Senate Achievers’ Award. The prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the lives of people with physical or mental challenges. Since 1996, Cosentino has been the Executive Director of Options for Independence, an Independent Living Center that serves the needs of people with disabilities, their families and the business community in Cayuga and Seneca counties.

Fifty Waterloo High School Seniors enrolled in Participation in Government were assigned to conduct background research and prepare “memorial” plaques for each of the 1635 Americans killed in action in Iraq.
