PETS IN NEED OF LOVE - 5/9/08 Are you 60 years of age or older? Do you know that Purina has a subsidy program to help you to adopt a cat or dog from the Beverly Animal Shelter? Please stop by the Shelter for more information. After all, it is Adopt-A-Pet month and there is no better time to bring a new friend into your life. Miller & Fluffy
Shorthaired, reddish brown Miller was found in early April with very sore pads on his feet. He is much better now and ready for a loving home. Although Miller weighs around 80 pounds, he is a sweet, quiet boy who walks well on a leash. Thought to be about 4 years old, Miller is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered before adoption. Burgess & Carmello
Burgess, a handsome, muscular, grey feline with a white stripe on his nose, white bib on his chest, white legs and the cutest white tip on his tail is a real love. Shorthaired and charming, he enjoys sitting on his person’s shoulders. Approximately 2 years old, Burgess is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered before adoption. Nesbitt & Hersey
A light orange, longhaired gentleman, Nesbitt is all fur. Pick him up and he’s just a feather. Only 7 months old, delightful Nesbitt is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption. Last week’s pets: Last week’s dogs have lots of wagging tails this week. Adopted were Buddy & Pepper and all the Labradoodle Ladies. Only little Toya and happy Margo are still waiting for their forever home. Shelter News: The Beverly Animal Shelter is now collecting your old cell phones. When the Shelter sends the phones in, they receive a small donation in return. Doing some Spring-cleaning? Save your good clean usable items for the BAS Annual Garage Sale to be held this year on June 12th, 13th, and 14th. And we still have that Special Need. The winds, as you know, have been brutal recently. The advertising banners and tarps we use to provide windbreaks and shade for the dogs in the outside kennels are in desperate need of replacement. If you have any heavy-duty advertising banners you no longer need, the Beverly Animal Shelter will put them to good use. You heard it announced, The Bark Heard Around The World coming in May. It’s almost here. This year the Beverly Animal Shelter will again be participating in the Purina Pets for Seniors, where Purina donates cash to BAS to defray the cost of pet adoptions for senior citizens, 60 years of age and older. Please be a responsible pet owner. Spay and neuter your pets to prevent more unwanted animals. ONLY YOU can prevent the overflow of kittens that begins each Spring and carries on into the Fall. ____________________ Click this button to donate to the Beverly Animal Shelter using PayPal: We invite you to come and meet our wonderful creatures in person. Our hours are from 9:00 to 5:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00 to 4:00 Saturday and Sunday. Questions, call (315)539-9357 or email beverlyshelter@yahoo.com.
