Krossin' Keuka
Krossin' Keuka, is a .67 mile fun swim across beautiful Keuka Lake, off the shore of Keuka College. 200 Swimmers will enter the water by 7am, Sat. July 26th. They will be escorted by paddlers and marine patrol and greeted with breakfast on the shore. They swim to support the Keuka Comfort Care Home through fund raising in the form of sponsorships. Sponsors can help them achieve their goal by going to krossinkeuka.org. All the swimmers and paddlers are listed. You can look through the list and find the swimmer or paddler you wish to sponsor and fill out the information.

For immediate release For more information, contact June 23, 2014 Ruth Benedict, (315) 759-0133 Sale Funds Scholarships for Women Yates AAUW Book Sale Coming to Penn Yan Sidewalk Sale Rain or shine on Saturday, July 26, the Yates County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will hold its annual book sale at the Penn Yan Sidewalk Sale, from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Proceeds from the sale on Main Street will be used to fund an annual scholarship for a Yates County woman wanting to return to her academic studies. “The book selection is always terrific, and everybody loves to browse and shop for their summer reading,” said President Ruth Benedict. “The AAUW book sale is a great cause for our community.” Prices will be 75 cents for paperbacks and $1.25 for hardcover books. Boxes for book donations will be at all Penn Yan banks for the month of July. The Mission of AAUW is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. The open mic nights will be held at the Art Center on 127 Main St., Penn Yan from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Ongoing open mics will be held on the last Thursday of each month. The Art Center Open Mic will provide a family friendly atmosphere for musicians of all ages, all skill levels, and all kinds of musical interests to come out and show their stuff, or play and network with other music lovers. Several local musicians will host the event: David Goodrich, stand-up bass; Bryan Flood, guitar; Trever Findley, saxophone; Barbara Anderson, keyboard; and Casey Kowalski, saxophone. There is no charge to watch or participate in this event. Donations to the Art Center of Yates County are always welcome.
