JD Wine Cellars "Un-wined" Friday
JD Wine Cellars “Un-wined” Friday Macedon, NY. (July 25, 2014) — On Friday July 25th JD Wine Cellars will be hosting an after work “un-wined” party at the tasting room. “ There is no better way to start the weekend than to relax with a glass of wine while enjoying the musical selections from the ever popular, local artist, Dave McGrath,” commented Joan Allen, owner. As an added bonus JD Wine Cellars is also releasing their first handcrafted Pinot Gris that evening. “Morning Dew is a delightful semi dry white with notes of green apple. It has a sharp mouth watering lingering finish and is sure to be a crowd favorite this summer” stated Doug Allen, winemaker. Visitors to the Tasting Room will be able to try Morning Dew for free during the evening. All of the other award winning wines along with 3 local beers will be available for sampling as well for just $3 per flight. Dave Mc Grath will be playing form 6-9pm, the BBQ grill will be open along with the Long Acre Farm Ice Cream Shop, Farm Market and Back 40 Adventure Area so bring the whole family. JD Wine Cellars will be open with extended hours until 9pm and will feature a sale on Waggin’ Tail Red, as well as tastings of their award winning wines and Fairport Brewing Company’s custom craft beers. Tastings are $3 per person. Summer Sips and Sounds: Wine and Music Festival
The Lake Ontario Wine Trail will host a wine and music festival Sunday July 27th, 2014 at Long Acre Farms in Macedon, NY. The “Summer Sips and Sounds” event will run from 12pm-6pm and will feature wineries, a distillery, 2 live bands and plenty of food and entertainment for the whole family. Participants include Casa Larga Vinyards of Fairport, Ontario Barn Vineyards of Ontario, Young Sommer Winery of Williamson, JD Wine Cellars of Macedon, Thorpe Vineyards of Wolcott, Inspire Moore Winery and Vineyard of North Rose, Mayer’s Lake Ontario Winery of Webster and Apple Country Spirits of Williamson. In addition, two of the Trail’s associate members will also be in attendance, The Heluva Good Cheese Country Store of Sodus and Pop’s House of Country Collectibles of Sodus Point. Long Acre Farms will have pulled pork dinners available and family fun for attendees and their families during the event. In addition, local bands Big Blue House and Lester Funk will be providing guests with a variety of blues, jazz and folk music. Pre-sale tickets are now available online at for $15. Each pre-sale ticket includes 15 tastes of locally handcrafted and award winning wines and spirits.
