Seneca Falls Library Cookie Walk & Holiday Bazaar
The Seneca Falls Library Cookie Walk Fundraiser will be held on December 5, 2015 from 10am to 2pm at the library. The event will include the following activities: • The Cookie Walk: Revelers can purchase a box and fill them with their homemade cookies of choice donated by local bakers. • The Mini Holiday Tree Contest: A Creative contest that is open to all! Attendees can choose to vote on their favorite tree as they make their way around the Cookie Walk. If you would like to make a tree the guidelines are the following: o Individuals, friends, families, and organizations can compete. o Create a tree with any materials or any theme! o Your tree should be of a size that can easily be displayed on a table top. o Bring your tree to the library by 8pm on December 4th. o The winner gets a prize! • Raffles: Items donated by local businesses will be raffled. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. • Holiday Craft Vendors: Craft vendors will be stationed on the mezzanine and on the first floor conference room. Seneca Singers Holiday Concerts
Seneca Singers Community Chorus will offer two local concerts this year. Join us at 4:30 pm at Mynderse Library, 47 Cayuga St., Seneca Falls or at 6:30 pm at St. Mary's Church, 35 Center St., Waterloo. Under the direction of Dr. Susan Avery, this adult community chorus of singers from ages 19 to 90 will present a broad array of music ranging from GRINCH! to Handel's "And the glory of the Lord". Even familiar titles such as "Winter Wonderland" or "Do You Hear What I Hear" have twists and turns, and the advanced singers in After Hours will amaze you with "Snow" and more. Deer hides for Veterans
the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge located at 2221 West River road is accepting deer hides for Veterans. This is a program of the Elks where the hides are used for craft projects for veterans in the local hospitals. Fatherhood Connection
The Seneca County Fatherhood Connection is an educational component of the Seneca County DHS Fatherhood Initiative. The mission is to empower and provide opportunity for skill sharing and development, access to resources, and strengthen families through connected fathers. Through 13 weekly meetings in a group setting the Seneca County Fatherhood Connection strives to rekindle the values that allowed men and families to prosper for generations. The next session will begin Thursday, December 3rd at the Seneca County Office Building, DHS Training Room (2nd Floor), 1 DiPronio Drive, Waterloo. Day session hours are 11:00am-1:00pm and evening session hours are 5:30pm-7:30pm. These sessions are offered to men at no cost. A meal is also provided at each session. Indoor Bulls Eye Pistol Matches at Waterloo Rifle & Pistol Club
Open to club members and the general public. Matches start at 7:00 pm every Thursday. Any .22 rimfire or centerfire semi-automatic pistol or revolver may be used. Iron sights and scopes are permitted. All firing is from the standing position using one or two hands. The NRA courses of fire are Slow Fire (10 rounds fired in 10 minutes), Timed Fire (10 rounds fired in two 5-shot strings -- 20 seconds each string) and Rapid Fire (10 rounds fired in two 5-shot strings -- 10 seconds each string. The Rimfire Match consists of two courses each of slow, timed and rapid fire (60 rounds total). The Centerfire Match consists of one slow and two timed fire courses (30 rounds total). Waterloo Rifle & Pistol Club (WRPC) belongs to the Finger Lakes Pistol League (FLPL), a postal league where individual scores are maintained in separate categories (one-hand, two-hand, etc.) for end-of-season awards. Participation in the League is optional. Shooters pay the club range fee (currently $3/member, $4/non-member) plus $1 to $2 for each score submitted to FLPL.
