GVBCA's 45th Annual Bottle, Table Top Antique, Paper & Postcard Show & Sale
The Genesee Valley Bottle Collectors Association's 45th Annual Bottle, Table Top Antiques, Paper & Postcards Show & Sale at ROBERTS WESLEYAN COLLEGE – VOLLER ATHLETIC CENTER, 2301 Westside Drive, Rochester, NY 14624. (9am to 3pm) Our show will feature about 100 dealers with approximately 200 tables of a wide variety of table top antiques, paper items, postcards, and of course bottles. Items can include but are not limited to Civil War, Brewerianna, insulators, postcards, advertising, buttons, marbles, ephemera, primitives, salesman samples, stoneware, fruit jars, toys, pin backs, coins, flasks, ginger beers, bitters, medicines, whimsies, books, apothecary, steins, advertising, dairy, tins, political, inks, trade cards and so much more... In addition, we have several educational displays featuring bottles and collectibles from the collections of our members and friends. 4th Annual Juried Maplewood Y Craft Show
Open to the public, the 4th Annual Juried Maplewood Y Craft Show on Saturday October 18th from 9:00 AM until 3:00PM features over 40 artisans, the Irondequoit Art Club and the FCTT Hi-Railers Model Railroad Club. Quality crafts include hand-crafted pottery, jewelry, paper art, soaps and oils, woodworking, fused and painted glass, fashion accessories, photographs, and others. Demonstrations of Painting techniques and model railroads. Welcome Back Weekend
Long Acre Farms will open for their 21st season at 10:00am on Saturday May 3, 2014. The Farm’s “Welcome Back Weekend” will continue through Sunday May 4th with special promotions, deals, samples and activities for the whole family. 2014 Season passes are currently on sale online and will be available for guests to purchase during the Farm’s “Welcome Back Weekend.” Guests who purchase any size/flavor Ice Cream will automatically receive a free wristband for the Back 40 Adventure- a play area on the Farm that consists of over 10 family-friendly activities, including a Fitness Jumping Pillow, Giant Slide, Hoop Shoot, Swing Set, Sandbox and more. In addition, the Farm will be running a “Buy 1 get 1 50% off” deal on all bags of ore for their Gemstone Panning station. The Farm Market will be offering free samples of homemade farm fresh fudge and will be stocked with new and familiar products. JD Wine Cellars, which is located at Long Acre Farms, will be open from 12pm-6pm during the weekend for wine and beer tastings and will have free samples of wine slushies for guests.

Lake To Lake Quilt Guild Show - "Bloom Where You're Planted: Bloom into Spring"
Lake-to-Lake Quilt Guild Presents Spring Quilt Show at New Location Join the Lake-to-Lake Quilt Guild at the Phelps Community Center for quilt show, May 16 and 17, 2014. Phelps, NY (May 16 & 17, 2014) – The Lake-to-Lake Quilt Guild’s biennial quilt show, “Bloom Where You’re Planted: Spring into Color,” will be held Friday, May 16, 2014, 9:30 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, May 17, 2014, 9:30 am to 5 pm, at the Phelps Community Center (8 Banta Street, Room 207, Phelps, NY 14532). Admission is $5.00 per person. The “Bloom Where You’re Planted: Spring into Color” Quilt Show will feature over 200 quilts, art quilts and textiles made by guild members. Enjoy a gift gallery, merchant booths, door prizes and daily demonstrations. This year, with the encouragement of the Phelps Community Center, the guild will present an “Introduction to Quilting” from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, May 17. See a special exhibit highlighting the talents of both Marie Peek and Janet Howard at the “Bloom Where You’re Planted: Spring into Color” Quilt Show. Honorary guild members are chosen for the work they do to promote and preserve the art of quilting. Fabric Postcard Sale, Quilt Raffle and Trunk Show Stop by the Fabric Postcard Sale to purchase a miniature art quilt made by guild members. These ingenious fabric cards are suitable for mailing or display. While selecting your postcard, purchase $1.00 raffle tickets to win our “Finger Lakes Galaxy Quilt” (90” x 108”); paper pieced by members of the guild, top assembled by Janet Wilhelm and long arm quilted by current guild president, Val Schultz. The proceeds from these two projects will be donated to Milly’s Pantry, Penn Yan, New York. We will also have little purses on sale with the proceeds to benefit Safe Harbor of the Finger Lakes. Linda Hunter, noted Quiltmaker and Quilting Teacher, will be giving a trunk show and lecture about Scrap Quilting with 5” squares on May 16. On May 17 she will be participating in a bed quilt turning. Both of these events will be at 2:00. Phelps Community Center will be offering a luncheon menu both days. The 2014 Hamlin Fire Department Carnival will run Thursday August 7th thru Saturday August 9th. We will have greatest lineup of entertainment again this year with multiple bands from country, southern rock, and good old fashion rock. Monroe Counties last Firemen’s Carnival of the year. Located behind the Firehouse at 1521 Lake Rd in the Heart of Hamlin, NY. Playland Amusements of Auburn, NY will be providing the midway with great rides and games. Hamlin Firefighters would like to invite you and your family to Grand Firemen’s Parade Friday August 8th at 7 pm and come enjoy family fun with the entertainment, the carnival rides, and your favorite carnival food every day.
