Geneva Night Out
Geneva Night Out is a free monthly arts and cultural event in downtown Geneva, NY on the first Friday of every month from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Art openings, exhibits and showcases hosted by local businesses and galleries allow visitors to explore the creative energy and dynamic range of local art in all its forms. Free self-guided maps directing attendees to each month's Geneva Night Out activities are available at www.genevanightout.org and at participating venues and businesses.

Olde-Tyme Rhubarb Festival & Classic Car Cruise-In
Step back in time with Montezuma Winery & Hidden Marsh Distillery as we celebrate the rhubarb harvest season with our 6th Annual Olde-Tyme Rhubarb Festival & Classic Car Cruise-In. Visitors will enjoy rhubarb specialties, while sampling some of the most unique fruit, grape and honey wines and spirits in the Finger Lakes. Refreshments include hots & hamburgers, salt potatoes, rhubarb chili, fresh rhubarb, rhubarb pies, rhubarb crisp, frozen wine slushies and of course wine! If youíre looking for some rhubarb fun, play to win at the rhubarb stalk throw or enter the hula hoop contest. Mobile Food Pantry Delivery
The Newark Rotary Club and Catholic Charities of Wayne County in partnership with the American Red Cross, Newark Food Closet, Together In Christ, and the Farm Bureau announce the arrival of the Foodlink Rochester Mobile Pantry on June 11, 2014 from 5:00Pm to 7:00Pm The mobile pantry will be pulling into Newark and setting up at the Marbletown Fire Department located at 6416 Silver Hill Rd. in Newark NY. The Mobile Pantry offers essential and nutritious food items to bridge the gap between hunger and abundance to those in need of food assistance. This is a free program with no income or residency guidelines. Eligible participants will only need to declare a need and present a picture ID. Participants will have a wide assortment of fresh and frozen grocery items to choose from including produce, meats, breads, dairy, canned foods, sweets, and more. Open Mic Night at the Arts Center of Yates County
The open mic nights will be held at the Art Center on 127 Main St., Penn Yan from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Ongoing open mics will be held on the last Thursday of each month. The Art Center Open Mic will provide a family friendly atmosphere for musicians of all ages, all skill levels, and all kinds of musical interests to come out and show their stuff, or play and network with other music lovers. Several local musicians will host the event: David Goodrich, stand-up bass; Bryan Flood, guitar; Trever Findley, saxophone; Barbara Anderson, keyboard; and Casey Kowalski, saxophone. There is no charge to watch or participate in this event. Donations to the Art Center of Yates County are always welcome.

Defensive Driving Course
The six-hour course is held at the Chamber office located at 2375 Route 14A just south of the Village of Penn Yan. Successful completion of the course affords drivers a ten-percent reduction in their liability and collision insurance premiums, a four-point reduction on their DMV record and reminds drivers of the importance of driving safely. The cost of the six-hour course is $35. Advance registration is mandatory, as class size is limited. To register for the class, just call the Chamber at 315-536-3111 or stop by their offices at 2375 Route 14A in Penn Yan. The class is from 6-9pm each evening.

Wine Symposium of the Finger Lakes

A celebration of the excellence of the regionís grape growers and winemakers, the Wine Symposium of the Finger Lakes includes the Finger Lakes AVA Riesling Challenge wine competition. The Grand Tasting Event on Friday, June 13, 2014, will showcase the wines of the finalists, and trophies will be awarded to the competition winners. On Saturday, June 14, 2014, Michael Warren Thomas of savorlife.com, welcomes Symposium registrants to a day of wine tasting and learning, alongside international experts, about the Finger Lakes American Viticultural Area (AVA) in the context of the worldís key wine producing regions. A structured tasting seminar on the principles of pairing food and wine is followed by breakout seminars by acclaimed industry experts on cool-climate white, red, and sparkling† wines. A keynote address and an exquisite five-course luncheon concludes the symposium. Tickets are available on the website; $35 for the Grand Tasting and $150 for the Symposium (includes Grand Tasting). The Wine Symposium is presented annually, offering an entertaining and educational forum with international wine and food experts.
