Many music lovers from central New York know this group well. The SWING KATS – Ingrid Houghton, Bernie McNabb, Marty Losito, and Cookie Coogan – are a swinging, danceable vocal quartet, with Bob Piorun providing instrumental backing. They do retro music of the Big Band era of the 1930s and on through the 1960s, all in 4-part harmony. Individually, The Swing Kats members bring a wealth of background in musical theater, professional rock, vocal ensemble, cabaret, and musical education to their group. Check out their website at for more detailed information about them. To hear their harmonies and style of music, go to Youtube and type “Swing Kats Demo” or “Swing Kats Holiday Card 2013” in the Youtube page search box. At the January 25th concert at Willard Chapel, there will be an intermission for refreshments. A fully accessible entrance is located off Seymour Street on the chapel’s north side. Tickets for this concert are $10 and are available at the door, with children 12 and under free. Proceeds benefit the Willard Memorial Chapel.
