The Real Christmas Committee for the second year is looking for the best apple pie in the Finger Lakes for this years 21st Real Christmas. Pies are to be brought to the Main Street School located on West Main Street between 3:30-4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, the day before the celebration. Judges will be Mike Cutillo from the Finger Lakes Times, Stephen Beals from senecadaily.com and Rick Coe, funeral director with Coe-Genung Funeral Home. Dinner for two at Abigails Restaurant will be given to the baker of the winning pie along with a traveling trophy that now rests with Alice Davis from Geneva, who was the 2013 winner. Pies must be made in a disposable 9 pie tin. For more information, call Bonnie Hosford at 539-9240.

10th Annual Charity Sports Auction
The Sport Management (SPM) Club at Syracuse University will hold its 10th Annual Charity Sports Auction on Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Carrier Dome. Silent bidding on hundreds of auction items, including sports memorabilia and hands-on experiences, electronics and tickets to major sporting events, will take place in the backcourt during the SU mens basketball game against St. Johns University. Doors will open for the auction at 3:15 p.m. through Gates A, B, C & E. Game time is 5:15 p.m. The SPM Club is a student-run organization in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics Sport Management Department. Since its founding in 2005, the Club has raised nearly $213,000 for local charities. All of the proceeds from this years auction will benefit Make-A-Wish of Central New York

Wassail Bowl & Sale
The Wassail Bowl Committee of the Geneva Historical Society will present the 46th annual Wassail Bowl and Sale on Saturday, December 6, from 10am to 2pm at The Presbyterian Church, 24 Park Place in Geneva. This is a great opportunity to get fresh wreaths and greens for the holiday, including kissing balls, table decorations and tree ornaments. Handcrafted items, baked goods, attic treasures and gently used Christmas decorations will also be sold. Wassail, a traditional spiced cider, will be available for tasting at the event. The Wassail Bowl Committee is also sponsoring a Wassail Bowl raffle. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 12 tickets for $10 and are available at the Historical Society office at 543 South Main Street or at the Wassail Bowl sale. Admission to the Wassail Bowl and Sale is free of charge. All proceeds benefit the Geneva Historical Society. The Orange, along with Jim and Juli Boeheim, took part in the Ms. Orange Fan Luncheon to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation Central New York chapter. The team signed autographs, met families helped by the foundation, and auctioned themselves off to raise funds for Make-A-Wish.
