5K Race for Hunger
Our USTAF certified course is not your typical “trail run.” The terrain is relatively flat, with a stone dust path and awesome native wildflowers, wildlife and ponds surrounding the course. Whether you're competing for the cash prizes for overall top 3, or just want to run for the fun of it, this is a race you don't want to miss! Proceeds from the 5K Race for Hunger benefit the House of Concern, a very active, local food pantry that services hundreds of families in need. Morning Star Flute Concert
At 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 30th, MORNINGSTAR FLUTE ENSEMBLE will present their second concert at historic Willard Memorial Chapel in Auburn, NY. You will hear music performed by a fine ensemble of dedicated musicians providing pleasure for every musical taste from classical to contemporary. The group will amaze and delight your aural senses with the flute version of an orchestral sound, using five different instruments of the flute family. Their peaceful and relaxing CD, “Tranquility” will be available at the concert. Performing with the ensemble will be Sarah Latanyshyn who is a 1998 graduate of Auburn High School and is now working on her PhD. Tickets may be purchased at the time of the concert, or in advance at the Willard Chapel, 17 Nelson St. Auburn NY 13021 during office business hours Tuesday through Fridays, 10am-4pm.
