Open Mic Night at the Arts Center of Yates County
The open mic nights will be held at the Art Center on 127 Main St., Penn Yan from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Ongoing open mics will be held on the last Thursday of each month. The Art Center Open Mic will provide a family friendly atmosphere for musicians of all ages, all skill levels, and all kinds of musical interests to come out and show their stuff, or play and network with other music lovers. Several local musicians will host the event: David Goodrich, stand-up bass; Bryan Flood, guitar; Trever Findley, saxophone; Barbara Anderson, keyboard; and Casey Kowalski, saxophone. There is no charge to watch or participate in this event. Donations to the Art Center of Yates County are always welcome.

Hamlin Firemens Carnival
The 2014 Hamlin Fire Department Carnival will run Thursday August 7th thru Saturday August 9th. We will have greatest lineup of entertainment again this year with multiple bands from country, southern rock, and good old fashion rock. Monroe Counties last Firemens Carnival of the year. Located behind the Firehouse at 1521 Lake Rd in the Heart of Hamlin, NY. Playland Amusements of Auburn, NY will be providing the midway with great rides and games. Hamlin Firefighters would like to invite you and your family to Grand Firemens Parade Friday August 8th at 7 pm and come enjoy family fun with the entertainment, the carnival rides, and your favorite carnival food every day. There will also be a chance to win up to $2000 dollar give a way on Saturday Night.
