KCCH Garage Sale
The Keuka Comfort Care Home is having its famous annual garage sale, Friday May 31st, 9am – 4pm and Saturday June 1st, 9am – 2pm, at the Yates County Fairgrounds located on Old Rte 14a, Penn Yan. We will have volunteers, at the Fairgrounds, to accept your donations on Monday, May 27th, 10am-2pm and Tuesday, May 28th, 10am-4pm. When you are cleaning out your house this spring, please consider saving your best items for our garage sale. If you could hold onto those items and bring them to the Fairgrounds on that Monday or Tues prior to the sale, we would appreciate it. We will be accepting “like new” household items, such as glassware, kitchenware, quilts and blankets, baby things, paintings and pictures, furniture, decorations, jewelry, linens, to name a few, on Monday, May 28th, 10am – 2pm and Tuesday, May 29th from 10am – 4pm at the Fairgrounds. Volunteers will be on hand to accept your donation and help you with your items. As always, we will not be accepting electronics, such as TV’s, computers, printers, and the like as we cannot guarantee they are in good working order and we would hate to sell something that needed to be fixed. We will not accept any gym equipment or Christmas Trees. We have found in the past, they do not sell. If you have a questionable item, please call the Keuka Comfort Care Home at 315-536-1690, prior to our take in dates of May 27th and May 28th to avoid being turned away. We pride ourselves on having a good, clean, successful garage sale with fair prices and nice items for sale. We are still looking for volunteers who would like to help us out that week. We will be setting up and accepting donations, Monday, May 27th and Tuesday, May 28th; Wednesday and Thursday, May 29th and 30th, we will be tagging and sorting; Friday, May 31st and Saturday, June 1st is the sale. If you have a few hours to share with us that week, we would love to have your help. We are especially in need of people with good backs and a good truck to help us with the bigger donations. If you have a youth group who could help us out on Monday for a couple of hours early in the day, that would be great!

KCCH Annual Yard Sale
On Friday, May 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., shoppers will head for the Yates County Fairgrounds on old Rt. 14A in Penn Yan for the biggest yard sale in the county! The Annual KCCH Yard Sale, staffed by dedicated volunteers, and featuring wonderful “previously enjoyed” items from our generous community, is an adventure for the tag sale enthusiast. From quilts to artwork, furniture to toys, clothing to tools, the selection of items is fantastic and has been carefully prepared for sale and priced to sell. Looking to support the sale in addition to shopping? Your “treasures” will be accepted at the Fairgrounds on Monday May 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Tuesday May 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Glassware, kitchenware, blankets, baby items, pictures, jewelry, linens, and books, to name a few, are all welcome. Items that will not be accepted for sale include electronics such as TV’s, computers and printers; gym equipment and Christmas trees. Is your item too big for you to transport? A volunteer will be happy to collect your item and deliver it to the fairgrounds. Another way to support KCCH through the yard sale is to volunteer. Many volunteers are needed to ensure success for an event of this scale. There are opportunities to help the entire week prior to and during the sale: • Monday and Tuesday May 27th and May 28th – accepting donations at the fairgrounds and set up. Finding his mother's apartment empty one day a week, he embarks on a series of attempts to seduce three eccentric women. Moravia Book Club
The Moravia Book Club is excited to present their selections for the 2012 - 2013 season. We’re starting out on November 4th commemorating the 100th year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic with the historical fiction book “The Dressmaker” by Kate Alcott. December 2nd is a reader’s choice: something quirky - “The Dead Beat Lost Souls, Lucky Stiffs, and the Perverse Pleasures of Obituaries” by Marilyn Johnson and/or a farcical play - “Accidental Death of an Anarchist” by Dario Fo. (Participants in the discussion can read either of these selections or both.) When the holidays are over, it’s time for a mystery on January 13th with “Death Comes to Pemberley” by P.D. James. February 17th is another either/or meeting with the titles “Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand and/or “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet” by Jamie Ford. On the 24th of March we’ll be discussing “The Orchard: A Memoir” by Theresa Weir. May 5th brings more true stories and another reader's choice with a biography of our own Emily Howland titled “Miss Emily” by Mildred Myers and/or the autobiographical “Grace and Grit”, by Lilly Ledbetter. Local author Kim Edwards is the focus of our June 9th meeting with “The Lake of Dreams”, a book that fictionalizes the Fingerlakes region. July and August feature novels with “An Available Man” by Hilma Wolitzer on July 14th, and “The Litigators” by John Grisham on August 18th. All of these meetings will take place at the Locke Town Hall, 906 Main St., Locke, at 7:00 PM. Our last meeting of the season is held at 1390 Cloverleaf Road, Locke, at 6:30 PM on September 29th. We will discuss the book “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed, and then choose the books for our next season. Questions? Contact Marilyn Westlake (C)428-1221 or Bonnie Thomas (H)497-0766.
