Tiffany Sunday Concert Series Presents: Bare Bones
Tiffany Sunday Concert Series Bones East Trombone Ensemble When: Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 2 pm Where: Willard Memorial Chapel, 17 Nelson Street, Auburn, NY 13021 Launch your holiday celebrations with us at Willard Chapel for a fabulous holiday brass concert with Bones East! This trombone ensemble, formed in the 1980s by Howard Kelley, includes some of Central New York’s finest professional, amateur and student trombonists. The unique tones and wide range of the trombone’s voice makes it not just versatile, but one of the best “like instrument” ensembles for harmonizing, energizing and making merry in a musical way! Bones East consists of between 12 and 20 players performing with Standard Tenor Trombones, Symphonic “large” Tenor Trombones and even larger Bass Trombones. This group can rumble with a tuba’s depth and ring with a trumpet’s sass! The music arrangements are in 4 part harmony and feature up to 12 individual parts, approaching the complexity of a full concert band. In other words, you’re in for a treat! Bones East members have played with the United States Air Force Band, the Merry-Go Round Theater Pit Orchestra, national Broadway tours and more. The ensemble itself has had the honor of performing at the International Trombone Conference and at many music festivals and concert series. There will be an intermission for refreshments. The Chapel’s main entrance is off Nelson Street. A fully accessible entrance is located off Seymour Street on the Chapel’s north side. Tickets for this concert are $10 and available at the door. Call 315-252-0339 for more information. Proceeds benefit the Willard Memorial Chapel.
