Palmyra family holds fundraiser for injured mom

The Reybrouck family of Palmyra invites friends and community members to attend a ZUMBA fundraising event this Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Palmyra Community Center (424 Stafford Street). Event proceeds will be used to offset medical expenses for family member Connie Reybrouck, who suffered a severe spinal cord injury on April 21,, leaving her partially paralyzed.

A wife, mother and grandmother, Reybrouck has been a resident of Palmyra for the last 25 years and has worked as an employee at Garlock’s for over 15 years. In April, Reybrouck suffered a traumatic fall that has left her immobile. She has been receiving treatment at Strong Memorial and Monroe Community hospitals since that time, but now her family is raising funds to help bring her home.

“The outpouring of support from family and friends has kept her strong, motivated and mentally on path to reach her goals,” said daughter Gina Landry. “Now we’re looking for continued support to make our house handicapped accessible so that we can provide her with the love and care she needs.

This weekend’s ZUMBA fundraiser will feature basket raffles, vendors, a 50/50, and a bake sale, with additional refreshments available for purchase. Event vendors who have agreed to donate a percentage of the sales to the Reybrouck family include: Origami Owl Designer, Pampered Chef, Cloud9 Parties, Sensational Sweets, It Works, Lemongrass Spa, Mary Kay, Jamberry, Tastefully Simple, Norwex, American Muscle and more. There will be facepainting stations and handcrafted kids projects available for families.
