On Thursday evening at 10:11 pm, the Geneva Police Department was called to 500 Pulteney Street for a reported stabbing/assault. It was learned at that time the victim in this matter, Christopher D. Evans, 38-years-old of that address, was involved in an altercation that resulted in him being stabbed multiple times in the neck and throat. He was transported to Geneva General Hospital and then Mercy flight transported to Strong Memorial. After approximately 4 hours of surgery he is listed as critical in the Intensive Care Unit at Strong.
The suspect in this matter, Fabian Luvel Jenkins, age 38 of Jamaica, NY, fled the scene and barricaded himself inside an apartment at 500 Pulteney Street. After several hours of trying to get the suspect to surrender to the police, Ontario County Sheriffs Department ERT Emergency Response Team was called and at 3:20 am the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The suspect has been charged with Assault in the First Degree, Class B Felony. Ontario County Sheriffs Road Patrol assisted in the investigation and apprehension of the suspect. Suspect Jenkins is awaiting arraignment.
