Seneca County Sheriff Jack S. Stenberg announced the launch today of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office mobile app. The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is only one of six Sheriffs’ Offices in the State of New York to have this mobile application which will allow smartphone users to access a wealth of information about the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Stenberg credited Undersheriff Gary S. Sullivan with the development and launch of the Seneca County Sheriff’s mobile app.
“Today, we are connected as never before and this new smartphone app allows users to download a free app called Mobile Patrol from either iTunes , Google Play or directly via a link from the Seneca County Sheriff’s website at http:\\sheriff.co.se neca.ny.us . Once downloaded smartphone users select New York State and then Seneca County Sheriff which will allow users to view all or search for specific inmates incarcerated in our jail, search for all or specific sex offenders living in Seneca County, enroll in VINE to get immediate telephone, text or email alerts when there is a change in an offender’s custody status, receive real time alerts sent by the Sheriff’s Office, view news items, report crime tips, view and with one touch calling to all Sheriff’s divisions, get directions to the Law Enforcement Center and much more” said Undersheriff Sullivan. “Shortly, we will be adding all wanted persons to the app, so users can send tips to help us track down persons wanted on warrants” continued Sullivan.
“This new app is yet one more tool we have employed to make the Sheriff&r squo;s Office more accessible to the public. In the past year, we have made it possible for families to add money to an inmate’s commissary account or post bail on line, made it possible for persons to pay civil assessments on line and have put a variety of forms in electronic format on our website to help persons transact business with the Sheriff’s Office,” said Sullivan.
“Coming soon, we are in the process of developing and launching other platforms which will allow us to better interact with the public we serve utilizing various social media outlets” said Undersheriff Sullivan .
