Geneva (13-0) topped Waterloo (2-11) 83-48 yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Shane Sweeney of Geneva led all scoring with 20 total points while Junior Sims added 13; and Jack Wallwork chipped in 9. Waterloo’s Jonathan Jones had a 12-point game and Thomas France shot for 11 points in the loss.
Penn Yan 48, Marcus Whitman 38
Penn Yan (7-6) beat Marcus Whitman (2-11) 48-38 yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Penn Yan’s James Burdette had a17-point game while teammate Bradley Voigt shot for 11 points. Marcus Whitman’s Luke Shively had a 12-point game and Devante Evans shot for 11 in the loss.
Midlakes 56, Palmyra-Macedon 49
Midlakes (3-10) topped Palmyra-Macedon (4-9) 56-49 yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Mason Jones of Midlakes had a 27-point game that included five three-point shots while teammates Thomas Knapp had five assists; Louis Price shot for 11 points and had 10 rebounds. Palmyra-Macedon’s Trevor Wager had a 12-point game and Mitchell Crist shot for 9 in the loss.
Newark 60, Wayne 56
Newark (8-4) edged Wayne (12-2) 60-56 yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Newark’s Anthony Lombardi shot for 12 total points while Jaymee Rosser added 18 points with seven rebounds and Micah Wright chipped in 13 additional points in the win. Wayne’s Paul Dinehart had a 17-point game but it was Tre LaMora who led all scoring with 24 total points in the loss.
Honeoye 91, Romulus-South Seneca 50
Romulus-South Seneca (0-11) continued their streak of consecutive games without a win last night in Section V boy’s basketball action as Honeoye (10-4) topped them 91-50. Honeoye’s Ben Cratsley led all scoring with a 33-point game while Tanner Gladding added 15 and Justin Soliday 14 in the win. Romulus-South Seneca’s Alex Porter and Sam Dickenson each had a 15-point game in the loss.
Bloomfield 66, Naples 45
Bloomfield (9-4) beat Naples (10-2) 66-45 yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Sean Fitzgerald 21 of Bloomfield led all scoring with 21 points while John Babcock had eight rebounds and Alex Flattery had another nine rebounds. Naples’ Jake Ball had a 13-point game.
SOTA 58, HAC 37
SOTA (6-9) topped HAC (2-12) yesterday in boys Section V basketball action 58-37. SOTA’s Jon Feliciano had a 16-point game while Jalen Rump shot for 11 points and had eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks. HAC’s Eric Tolhurst shot for 12 points and Galen Everett for 10 in the loss.
North Rose-Wolcott 53, Gananda 46
Yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action Gananda (7-7) fell to North Rose-Wolcott (5-7) 53-46. North Rose-Wolcott’s Chris Dean led all scoring with 22 total points and had 12 rebounds while Jake Stevenson chipped in 18 points and had 16 rebounds. Gananda’s Jake Gabbard and Eric Mucci each shot for 10 points in the loss.
Clyde-Savannah 74, Red Creek 33
Clyde-Savannah (13-1) topped Red Creek (2-12) 74-33 yesterday in boy’s Section V basketball action. Clyde-Savannah’s Tom Kanaley had a 22-point game with five rebounds while teammates Joemaine Bogan and Patrick Harper each shot for 12 points. Joe Faniel had five rebounds and three steals and Kam DiSanto shot for 12 points. Red Creek’s Jacob Slobe had a 12-point game in the loss.
Williamson 72, Sodus 29
Sodus (0-13) is still searching for their first win of the season as Williamson (7-8) topped them 72-29 yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Williamson’s Tom Stephens shot for 16 points while Stevie Thomson tacked on 15 and Terry Rogers another 10 in the win. Sodus’ Zachary Burnette had a 7-point game.
