A busy night in Wayne-Finger Lakes boy’s basketball on Tuesday night included Geneva, Wayne, and Lyons all staying hot despite the cold weather. Each of the three team's remain undefeated thus far in the season.
Geneva 73, Newark 59
Geneva (8-0) topped Newark (5-3) 73-59 yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Geneva’s Akia Jackson had a 12-point game. Newark’s Anthony Lombardi also had a12-point game while teammate RonDerrick Morris had 11 and Jaymee Rosser shot for 10 total points in the loss.
Wayne 74, Marcus Whitman 44
Yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action Wayne (9-0) beat Marcus Whitman (1-8) 74-44. Wayne’s Tre LaMora led all scoring with 18 total points. Ben Bobo added 12 and Mike Hollenbeck chipped in another 10 points. Marcus Whitman’s Tyler Rohrback had a 12-point game while teammate Luke Shively shot for 10 in the loss.
Mynderse 74, Midlakes 47
Mynderse (6-3) topped Midlakes (1-8) 74-47 in Section V boy’s basketball action yesterday. Luke Ruddy of Mynderse led all scoring with 31 total points while Jimmy Ricci added 18 points and Connor Miller another 12. Midlakes’s Dakota Norrison shot for 15 points and Mason Jones chipped in another 10. Mike Gelder 7and Louis Price each added 7 points apiece respectively in the loss.
Penn Yan 59, Waterloo 38
Yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action Penn Yan (4-4) topped Waterloo (2-6) 59-38. Penn Yan’s James Burdette led all scoring with 18 total points on the day while Ben Covert added another 10. Waterloo’s Robert Barnes had an 8-point game.
Aquinas 75, Palmyra-Macedon 50
Palmyra-Macedon (3-5) fell to Aquinas (6-2) yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Kyron Allen of Aquinas had a 22-point game in their win.
Lyons 56, Williamson 45
Lyons (8-0) edged Willamson (5-5) 56-45 yesterday in boy’s Section V basketball action. Lyon’s Tre' Johnson led all scoring with a 27-point game. Tom Stephens had a 16-point game for Williamson.
North Rose-Wolcott 57, East Rochester 45
North Rose-Wolcott (4-5) picked up their fourth win of the season yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action as they topped East Rochester 57-45. North Rose-Wolcott’s Chris Dean led all scoring with 22 total points while teammate Jake Stevenson shot for 15 points himself. East Rochester’s Phinehas Jacques respectively had a 12-point game in the loss.
Red Creek 44, Sodus 24
Red Creek (2-9) dropped Sodus (0-9) 44-24 yesterday in Boy’s Section V basketball action. Red Creek’s Jacob Slobe had a14-point game while Ethan Durocher added 10 points. Sodus’ Jonathan Derrenbacher had 11 points in the loss.
