A busy night in Wayne-Finger Lakes boy’s basketball on Thursday night included several very tight games in terms of scoring as well as Canandaigua coming out victorious at their hosted tournament.
Bloomfield 75, South Seneca-Romulus 24
Yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action Bloomfield (3-3) topped Romulus-South Seneca (0-8) 75-24. Bloomfield’s John Babcock had a 15-point game while teammate Brandon Fergusen had 14 and Sean Fitzgerald added another 13 points. South Seneca-Romulus’ Alex Porter had an 8-point game while Harry Hyde chipped in an additional 4 in the loss.
Dundee 62, Naples 58
Dundee (5-2) defeated Naples (5-1) 62-58 yesterday in boy’s Section V basketball action. Dundee’s Jon Huber led all scoring with 18 total points. Justin Brace had a 15-point game while Greg Ellison chipped in 10 points. Naples’s C.J. Kobus also had a 15-point game and Jake Ball shot for 12 total points.
Honeoye 66, Red Jacket 54
Honeoye (5-2) beat Red Jacket (4-3) 66-54 yesterday in Section V boy’s basketball action. Honeoye’s Ben Cratsley had 23 total points, 11 assists, and 10 steals while teammate Allan Smith had 11 points, and 9 rebounds. Justin Soliday shot for 21 points, had 10 rebounds and 7 blocks. Red Jacket’s Cyrus Baker had a13-point game while Dominic Vazquz added another 11 points.
Canandaigua 42, Victor 38
In yesterday’s Section V boy’s basketball Canandaigua Tournament Canandaigua (3-6) edged Victor (0-8) 42-38. Canandaigua’s Ian Brown had a 14-point game while Dillon Mergenthaler had 8 points, and 7 rebounds. Mitch O'Donnell had 7 rebounds while teammate Sean Outhouse added 5 steals. Victor’s Luke Bleier shot for 14 points and Conor Powers added 12 total points in the loss.
