| Four officers injured in Geneva car & foot chase | |||
On early Monday morning, around 2:00 am, the Geneva Police Department along with assistance from the New York State Police and Ontario County Sheriff’s Department arrested Dustin Vernon Gomes. Gomes is a 26 year old from Walworth, New York. After a police car and foot pursuit in the City of Geneva, the subject was taken into custody for both Felony and Misdemeanor charges on Monroe Avenue, Geneva. Subject violently fought with Officers, injuring four officers ranging from a bite to one officer to a nose injury to another. During the incident, the suspect attempted to take two of the officers weapons. Two Officers were treated at Geneva General Hospital and released. The suspect in this matter was held on 100,000 cash and 200,000 bond and will return to Geneva City Court on Tuesday at 9:00 am.Charges are as follows: SPEED IN ZONE (2 Counts) IMPROPER RIGHT TURN UNLAWFUL FLEEING POLICE LEAVING/SCENE PROPERTY DAMAGE ACC.
