The Seneca County Sheriff's Office in cooperation with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.
There will be two collection sites: 44 West William Street, Waterloo, N.Y., 13165 at the Sheriff's Office substation and at the Law Enforcement Center 6150 Route 96, Romulus, N.Y. 14541. Deputies will be on hand to collect these unwanted drugs with no questions asked and no paperwork to fill out.
Sheriff Jack Stenberg states that he was pleased at the response from Seneca County citizens at previous "Dru g Take Back" events and urges all Seneca County citizens to participate in the effort against prescription drug abuse. Unwanted prescriptions drugs, when improperly disposed of can make their way in the hands of our youth or contaminate our enviroment. A home with unwanted prescription drugs can also become a target for thieves.
