Car fire temporarily shuts down County Road 7 in Manchester

A car fire shut down a section of County Road 7 on Monday morning after a vehicle became fully engulfed in flames near the intersection with Outlet Road.

Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 11:36 a.m. on December 30, where they discovered a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe ablaze. The vehicle’s owner and operator, Mark H. Hoolihan, 65, of Buffalo, reported noticing heavy smoke coming from the engine compartment before safely pulling off the roadway. Hoolihan was not injured in the incident.

Clifton Springs Fire Department arrived and quickly extinguished the fire. Authorities temporarily closed County Road 7 between Outlet Road and State Route 96 while crews managed the scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests the fire was caused by an electrical or mechanical issue.
